Pakistan and UK Commit to Enhancing Bilateral Trade Relations


Islamabad, In a recent meeting, Federal Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, and British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Ms. Jane Marriott, committed to strengthening the trade ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The discussions revolved around leveraging the historical and political connections between the two countries to boost trade and commerce.



According to Press Information Department, Minister Jam Kamal Khan underscored the importance of the Developing Countries Trading Scheme (DCTS) launched in June 2023, which he believes offers a significant opportunity for Pakistan to increase its trade volumes with the UK. He also announced the upcoming initiation of the UK-Pakistan Trade Dialogue, which is expected to further enhance the trade and investment relationship between the two nations.



Ms. Jane Marriott expressed optimism about the future of bilateral trade, noting the steady increase in Pakistan’s exports to the UK. This growth trajectory signifies the potential for even greater cooperation and economic engagement in the future.
