Zero Tolerance will be shown to Corruption: Chaudhry Anwar Ali Cheema
Islamabad: Ch. Anwar Ali Cheema, Federal Minister for Production, has stated that the Ministry has earnestly embarked upon the path of utilizing its potential to the fullest. The Minster added that the Ministry of Production is all set to strengthen and trigger the national economy through reforming and improving the efficiency of all the attached departments, companies and projects of the Ministry. The Minister emphasized that zero tolerance will be shown to all the illegalities, irregularities and corruption within the Ministry, if found any. The Minister chaired a meeting with Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) and its subsidiary units Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC), Pakistan Hunting and Sporting Arms Development Company (PHSADC), today on 14th July, 2011 on Thursday here in the Ministry in Islamabad.
All the units presented their summary reports on the utilization of funds project-wise. During the meeting, the Finance Committee of PIDC and the external Audit Committee and consultants also took part and briefed the Minister about their respective observations. In the light of all the recommendations, observations and reservations, the Minister has issued certain orders. The Minister, particularly, asked to bring more transparency to the process of recruitment of personnel in PIDC and its internal auditing function. The Minister further directed to complete the project within stipulated time frame with a view to gain a boost to the efforts in these sectors.
The meeting was also attended, among other high officials of the Ministry, by the Secretary Production, Javed Iqbal Awan and the Chief Executive Officer of PIDC, Gull Muhammad Rind.
