World urged to play role in Kashmir settlement

Srinagar, July 29 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM), a constituent of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), has said that peace and stability in south Asia will remain a distant dream until Kashmir dispute is resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiris.

The JKPM Spokesperson, Umar Arshad Inqalabi in a statement called upon Pakistan and India to create conducive atmosphere for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace could be established in the region.

He said that people of the Jammu and Kashmir had launched an indigenous political struggle to achieve their inalienable right to self-determination guaranteed to them by the world community through several UN resolutions.

Umar demanded withdrawal of draconian laws from Jammu and Kashmir and said that the international community should make India realize that resolution of the Kashmir dispute was vital for the peace and development in South Asia.

On the other hand, a delegation led by the Jammu and Kashmir Freedom Movement Chairman, Muhammad Sharif Sartaj visited Gool area of Ramban and condoled with the family members of the victims of four civilians recently martyred by Indian troops in the area.

On the occasion, Sharif Sartaj appealed the international community to come forward and press India to end its policies of torture, arrests, harassment and killing the occupied territory.
