World urged to pay attention to Kashmir settlement

Srinagar, November 30, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, has urged the world community to pay serious attention towards resolution of the Kashmir dispute for ensuring permanent peace in the South Asian region. Professor Abdul Ghani Butt visited Mamoos area of Pattan in Baramulla and condoled with the Hurriyet leader, Farooq Mamoosi, on the death of his father, who had passed away recently.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, he appealed to all major powers of the world including US, China, and Russia to play an effective role to find out a negotiated settlement of the lingering dispute.

He reiterated that the Kashmiris’ liberation sentiment could not be suppressed through aggressive measures. He said that peace would continue to elude South Asia until the Kashmir dispute was resolved in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.

Professor Butt said that India should accept the ground reality and take steps to settle the lingering dispute, once for all.
