Women arrested for stealing govt. belongings from Islamabad electric Supply Company limited IESCO grid station

Islamabad: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police arrested four persons including two women who were allegedly involved in taking away valuable items from Tarlai grid station at gun point after tightening the guards with ropes, a police spokesman said here Tuesday.

According to details, SDO Khalid Mehmud , T and B Sub-Division IESCO Islamabad submitted an application with Shehzad town police station that unidentified persons took away the government belongings and other items from under-construction grid station of 132 KV in Tarlai at gun point on November 13.

It was stated in the application that these persons took away various items including copper conductor wire 1200 meter and 24 copper earth rods worth Rs. 100,000 after tightening the guards Jehanzeb and Boota with ropes and also took away cash from them at gun point.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik assigned the task to In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon to investigate the case and ensure arrest of culprits at earliest. A special team under his supervision including ASIs Zafar Iqbal, Tarif Rauf and other policemen was constituted which succeeded to arrest four persons including two women.

The culprits were identified as Faisal Zubair s/o Mukhtar Ahmed resident of Tehsil Safdar Abad district Sheikhupura, Faisal Shah s/o Aslam Shah resident of Shamasabad Rawalpindi, Munaza Bibi w/o Muhammad Taj, Anwar Bibi w/o Mushtaq residents of Haq Bahu Colony Islamabad. Police also recovered stolen items from these persons and further investigation is underway from them.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has appreciated this performance and announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for the members of CIA police team.
