Islamabad, January 03, 2021 (PPI-OT): Synoptic Situation

A strong westerly wave is present over north-eastern parts of the country and likely to persist in upper parts of the country till Tuesday.

Sunday

Rain (with snowfall over hills) is expected in northeast Punjab, Pothohar region, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Monday

Rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over hills) is expected in Islamabad, upper/central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas while fog is likely in south Punjab at isolated places during morning hours. Cold and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Rain-thunderstorm occurred in Kashmir, northeast Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan. Cold and dry weather prevailed over other parts of the country, while very cold in north Balochistan and northern areas.
