UNMOGIP’s presence vital till Kashmir settlement: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, January 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the presence of UN Military Observer Group (UNMOGIP) in Kashmir is highly imperative until political resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

“You have seen that there was lot of escalation in tension in the past and until Kashmir issue is resolved, we cannot guarantee truce on ceasefire militarily nor can we talk of ay political stability in the region,” he added. Mirwaiz underlined that any agreement between “India and Pakistan in the past cannot supersede the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir.”

Others who spoke in the seminar—Concept of Freedom in Light of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) Teaching— included Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi and Maulana M S Rehman Shams.
