Trade of spurious and substandard medicines will be eradicated at all costs from the Province: Shahbaz Sharif

Lahore, December 08, 2016 (PPI-OT):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while issuing special directions to provincial administration from London today has said that manufacturers and sellers of spurious drugs are traders of death; therefore, crackdown should be continued against such elements. The Chief Minister said that he is answerable to Allah Almighty and people and added that quality medicines are right of the people and he will go to the last limit for ensuring provision of quality medicines to them.

He said that a cash prize of Rs.10 lakh will be given to the person providing authentic information regarding the elements preparing fake medicines. Shehbaz Sharif said that the business of spurious and substandard drugs will be eliminated at all costs from the province. He directed that concerned departments should perform the responsibility of eradication of fake drugs by considering it national obligation. He said that cash prizes and commendatory certificates would be awarded to the officers and staff showing outstanding performance. He said that scourge of spurious and substandard medicines will have to be rooted out.
