Srinagar, In Baramulla district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have detained three young individuals under the Public Safety Act (PSA), a law often criticized for its stringent provisions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the individuals identified as Mysir Majeed, Abdul Ahad, and Khursheed Ahmad were booked under the PSA, which allows for detention without trial. They have been transferred to District Jail Kupwara and District Jail Islamabad following their detention.
The use of the PSA, referred to in the region as a “black law,” continues to stir controversy, particularly regarding human rights concerns, as it enables authorities to hold individuals in custody for extended periods without formal charges or trial.
