Three kidnappers involved in abducting trader arrested

Islamabad: Sabzi Mandi Police Islamabad has arrested three kidnappers allegedly involved in abducting a trader and also recovered ransom amount from them.

According to details, a trader of fruit market Aftab Muhammad Abbasi was abducted at gun point from sector I-11/4 and was taken away in a rural area of `Peepal, Katling police station district Mardan. The kidnappers demanded ransom amount Rs. 7.2 million from the family of Aftab Muhammad Abbasi. Finally, the kidnappers agreed to take Rs. 2 million and got this amount from his family.

Addressing a press conference here Thursday, SP Industrial Area Ishaq Warraich said that IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik assigned him task to ensure arrest of perpetrators of this act.

To accomplish this task, a special team under his own supervision including DSP Industrial Area Muhammad Ashraf Shah, SHO Sabzi Mandi Inspector Abdul Majeed, Sub-Inspectors Asjad Mehmud, Ishaq and others was constituted which investigated the case by using all available resources and succeeded to arrest three persons involved in this kidnapping incident

These kidnappers were identified as Arshad Abbasi s/o Nur Akbar Abbasi resident of sector F-8/1, Ahmed Raheem s/o Gul Raheem, Zaristan s/o Gulistan residents of Katling, district Mardan The two accused hailing from `Katling Mardan, has been transferred to Islamabad from Katling Mardan and police also recovered Rs. 5,70,000 as well as bike from their possession.

During the preliminary investigation, the SP Ishaq Warraich said that other persons were also involved in this kidnapping and a separate team has been constituted to ensure their arrest.

Highlighting the performance of Industrial Area Circle, SP Ishaq Warraich said that Industrial area and Sabzi Manid police station busted four gangs of dacoits and drug pushers and nabbed a total of 56 persons during the last one month besides recovering looted items worth Rs. 4 millions, two cars, five mobile phones, 16 kilogram hashish, 350 gram opium, 232 wine bottles, 22 pistols of 30 bore and one 12 bore gun from them.

The gangsters involved in dacoities and theft incidents were identified as Waqas Shah alias Wiki s/o Zulfiqar Sha resident o f Qasim Abad Rawalpindi, Mohsin s/o Muneer, Qasiar Hussain s/o Maqbool Hussain, Aamir Hameed, Fazal ur Rehman s/o Muhammad Yaqub residents of Rawalpindi, Kabeer Khan s/o Gulab Khan, Afsar Ali s/o Gohar Ali, Shahid Mehmud s/o Malik Hameed, Nazeer Ahmed s/o Ghulam Muhammad, Badal s/o Muhammad Akmal, Muhammad Khan s/o Raaz Muhammad, Muhammad Jameel s/o Taj Muhammad.

Two persons of a gang dealing in fake currency were also nabbed who had been identified as Bashir Ahmed s/o Nazir Ahmed and Irfan Ullah s/o Ameer Ullah. Police also recovered fake currency worth Rs. 1,85,000 from their possession.

The SP said that Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik have overall appreciated this performance of Sabzi Mandi as well as I-9 police stations.

They have also announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for members of police team, hoping their similar performance against the criminal elements in future too.

To a question, the SP Industrial Circle said that effective steps have been taken to curb car lifting in Industrial area police circle and residents of the area are very much satisfactory with these steps.

He said that it is being endeavoured to ensure 100 per cent recovery in various under investigation cases and it would be made after arrest of all nominated accused.
