Three auto-thieves including Afghan national arrested; two cars recovered

Islamabad, August 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): Anti-car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad Police has busted a gang of car lifters and recovered two stolen vehicles from them, a police spokesman said. According to details, SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas constituted a special team to trace those involved in crime of car lifting. This team comprising In-charge ACLC Inspector Abdul Sattar Shah, ASIs Nur Ullah, Habib Ullah, constables Abdul Rauf, Nashad Khan, Qamar Sajjad and others succeeded to arrest three car jackers and recovered two cars (Honda and Suzuki Mehran) from them.

The car thieves have been identified as Adam Khan alias Aziz Afghani resident of Afghanistan, Nur and Bilal residents of Peshawar. They have confessed to strike at various places in Rawalpindi and Islamabad including the limits of Aabpara and Shalimar police station. It was revealed during the preliminary investigation that they used to sell these cars in Charsada and Peshawar while raids are being conducted to arrest their other accomplices.

SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has appreciated this performance of ACLC team and announced special prizes and commendation certificates for team members. He has further directed all police officials and ACLC to enhance vigilance and efforts to curb crime of car theft.
