There is sense of deep alienation in IHK: Seema Mustafa

Srinagar, June 17, 2013 (PPI-OT): A prominent Indian writer and the Centre for Policy Analysis Director, Seema Mustafa has said that there is no government on the ground in occupied Kashmir and deep alienation has created a vacuum which is difficult to get filled up in coming years.

Seema Mustafa talking to media men in Srinagar said, “People are complaining while the government is nowhere to redress the problems of the people. This government has done nothing for the people.”

Seema Mustafa said that there is a need to focus on accountability. “I met so many Kashmiri youth who have got injured in different protests by Indian Para-military forces and police actions. I was shocked to see that most of the youth were shot at above knees with an intention to kill them,” she said.

Under the garb of violence, she said, “the government gets a chance to arm their police and troopers with lethal weapons to crush and kill the people which results in death and destruction,” she said adding that youth should provide no chance for the government to suppress them.
