Teenager beaten up by Indian trooper, dies in Rajouri

Srinagar, June 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian trooper ruthlessly beat up and killed a 19-year-old youth in Rajouri district.

The youth identified as Rakesh Kumar was severely injured after he was assaulted and kicked in the stomach by a trooper at Kewal Budhal in the district. He was shifted to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajouri, Mubashir Latifi, said. On the other hand, complete shutdown was observed in Boniyar area of Uri to mourn the mysterious death of a 23-year-old model, Amir Yousuf Mir, in Mumbai, India, on Tuesday.

People including women staged demonstrations against Amir’s mysterious death. Protesters also blocked Srinagar-Baramulla Highway for several hours, demanding high-level probe into the incident.

Meanwhile, a Special Police Officer was killed and four others were injured when a car they were travelling in rolled down into a deep gorge on Manthala-Bhaderwah road.
