Supreme Court of Pakistan redresses grievance in Human Rights Case

Islamabad, June 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr. Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took Notice on application of Darya Khatoon Khoso R/o Jacobabad registered through Human Rights Cell of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Islamabad.

The applicant stated that she applied for the recovery of her late husband’s group insurance who retired from education department and submitted it before the DC Jacobabad for his countersigning but he is intentionally not processing her application regarding recovery of her late husband’s group insurance amount from State Life Insurance. She prayed for action against the DC Jacobabad and redressal of her grievance.

Taking the cognizance, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan ordered that:

“Report be obtained from DC Jacobabad within a fortnight.”

Complying with the above directions, DC, Jacobabad, submitted report that:

“The Group Insurance Claim in favour of applicant’s husband has already been disposed of and all the relevant papers were delivered.”

As the grievance of the applicant has been redressed, the application was filed accordingly.
