State Bank of Pakistan to launch another Rs. 20/- Commemorative Coin


Karachi: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will start issuing Rs. 20 Commemorative Coin through the exchange counters of all the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation from May 28, 2011 on the occasion of 150 year celebrations of Lawrence College, Ghora Gali, Murree.

The metal composition, shape, dimension and design of the coin are as under:
Metal Composition: Cupro Nickel, Copper 75%, Nickel 25%.
Diameter: 30 mm
Weight: 9.5 grams.

Obverse:
The waxing crescent moon and a five pointed star facing north-west in rising position is in the centre on the obverse face of the coin. Along with periphery on the top of the crescent star is inscribed in wording Islami Jamhoria Pakistan in Urdu script. Below the crescent and at the top of two springs of wheat with arms curved upward, there is the year of issuance 2011. The face value of the coin in numeral wording ‘20’ in bold letters and Rupee in Urdu Script are written on the right and left sides of crescent star respectively. A circle of small beads is all along the edge of the coin.

Reverse:
On the reverse side of the coin monogram of Lawrence College, Ghora Gali, Murree is depicted in the centre. The wording “150 Year Celebrations- Lawrence College Ghora Gali Murree” in English is written on the top of coin along with the periphery. There are small beads all along the edge of the coin.

It may be added here that all the field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation have been issuing Rs 20 Commemorative Coin to commemorate the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China as well as to celebrate the “2011 Year of Pak China Friendship” since May 21, 2011.
