Speakers urge promotion of Kashmiri language

Srinagar, July 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has stressed the need to strengthen Kashmiri language at grass root levels.

He was speaking at the function to mark the 9th death anniversary of renowned Kashmiri poet and writer Fazil Kashmiri. The function was organized by Adbi Markaz Kamraz (AMK) in collaboration with Fazli Memorial Trust.

The Mirwaiz said there was dire need to make Kashmiri language compulsory in all educational institutions.”

Among others who spoke at the occasion included, Zeeshan Fazili, Taskeem Fazili, Farooq Nazki and Prof. Hamdi Kashmiri. All the speakers called for the collective efforts to promote Kashmiri language at grass root level.
