South Korean Ambassador calls on Prime Minister

Islamabad, July 26, 2012 (PPI-OT): South Korean Ambassador Mr. Choongjco Choi called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at PM’s House today and conveyed congratulations on behalf of the government, the embassy and on his own behalf to the Prime Minister on assuming the office of Chief Executive of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister thanked his Korean counterpart for his message of felicitations and asked the Ambassador to convey his best wishes and regards to the Prime Minister of Korea.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan wanted to further strengthen and expand its relations with South Korea in the fields of economic cooperation, trade, energy and infrastructure development.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and South Korea had a good track record of economic cooperation and Korean companies were household names in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister welcomed South Korean companies’ interest to invest in the energy and power sector of Pakistan.

There is a great opportunity for Korean companies to invest in infrastructure development, information and communication technology, steel manufacturing, food processing and power generation sectors in Pakistan, the Prime Minister said.

The Ambassador underscored the importance of simplifying the procedures and settlement of the industrial disputes, so important for inducing the South Korean companies to invest Pakistan.
