Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority website download rises to 5.5 million for Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan scheme

Lahore, December 18, 2013 (PPI-OT): The number of downloads from website of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) for “Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan” Scheme rose to 5.5 million today.

According to confirmed sources, except 430657 downloads made for general information, rest of the entire downloads have been attempted for English and Urdu Pre-Feasibility Studies uploaded by SMEDA for facilitation of the youth desiring to avail of the Prime Minister’s Business Loan.

This increase in downloads has further improved ranking of SMEDA website. Now, the local ranking of SMEDA website has moved up to the top 249 websites of Pakistan. Whereas, the website stands on 56,552nd number among the top 60,000 websites at global level. Earlier, last week SMEDA website was ranking as 450th among top websites at country level and 79,488th at global level.

This is significant to note that SMEDA website has emerged as the most useful source of information for Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan (PMYBL) Scheme. The website has been furnished with entire information and documents of the scheme along with 56 pre-feasibilities of various business sectors both in English and Urdu language, which have proven to be highly helpful for true applicants of the scheme.

The 56 Pre-feasibility Studies, related FAQs, Financial calculators pertaining to loan repayment, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, Business Plan Guidelines / Template and Training Video Documentary on ‘How to develop a Business Plan’, along with other related information material, has been specifically made available on SMEDA website, which are frequently being accessed by the loan applicants.

Loan applicants are also being facilitated through the 25 helpdesks established by SMEDA in 16 cities across Pakistan. More than 10,000 walk-in applicants have so far been facilitated through SMEDA Helpdesks as.

CEO SMEDA Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera has expressed satisfaction over SMEDA’s role in providing the fullest information relating to the technical aspects of the PMBL. Rising number of uploads for Pre-feasibility studies from SMEDA website is a great source of encouragement for us, he said and hoped that SMEDA guidelines for setting up new businesses will help PMYBL scheme achieve the ultimate goal of economic prosperity through employment generation in the SME sector.

Since the PMYBL scheme is purely a business loans scheme, an applicant has to produce a viable business plan related with their skills and experience for applying the required loan, he said. That is why SMEDA has come forward to assist the applicants as a lead government organization with business planning and development services, he said adding that all of the SMEDA services related to PM’s Youth Business Loan are absolutely free of Cost.
