Sindh government says salary accounts of Local Bodies are functional

Karachi, October 29, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Sindh government has frozen the accounts of local bodies just to redistribute financial resources among all the local bodies, including those which have been newly created but the salary accounts of the local bodies are functional.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has said that the freezing of the local bodies accounts is purposeful to redistribute financial resources among the local bodies. “Some new local bodies were created by carving out from the old ones for which distribution of funds has to be made accordingly,” he said and added that the new local bodies have no allocations and their share was going to the old local bodies, therefore the process of redistribution of funds has been started.

He added that salary funds have not been frozen and employees would draw their salaries as usual. He added that the redistribution of funds among the old and new local bodies would be completed by the first week of November and accounts would be made unfrozen.
