Sikh protesters block Highway in Jammu IOK

Jammu, June 04, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, members of Sikh community, today, blocked roads by burning tyres in Jammu against the removing of posters of a Sikh leader, Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale demanding suspension of the police officer for removal of the posters. The Sikh community during a protest while denouncing the act. The protesters blocked the Jammu-R.S. Pura road at Gadigarh, shouting slogans against the PDP-BJP puppet regime.

Indian paramilitary forces and police personnel were deployed in Satwari, Gadigarh and Digiana areas following Wednesday’s incident in which a police officer was critically injured during a clash with the community after the police removed the posters. Sikh community had put up posters of Bhindranwale on Satwari-R S Pura road in Jammu ahead of a programme to pay tribute to the leader, officials said.
