Shawl condemns recent killings of youth in IOK

London, June 15, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Chief Patron of Kashmir Concern, Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl has condemned the recent killings of Kashmiri youth by unidentified gunmen in occupied Kashmir. Professor Nazir Ahmed Shawl in a statement issued in London said that another innocent youth, Aijaz Ahmad Reshi was killed in Sopore. He added that the killing spree seemed to be a policy of the authorities to discipline the Kashmiris through death.

He deplored that a seminar that was to be held in Srinagar was banned and the participants from Indian civil society were arrested and disallowed to voice their concern. Shawl said that Sikh leaders and noted human rights activist, Gautam Nav Lakha were not allowed to reach the venue of the seminar. He urged the UN Human Rights Council to take notice of unethical and undemocratic behaviour of the Indian State in occupied Kashmir.
