Shabbir, Nayeen placed under house arrest in IOK

Srinagar, June 04, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have placed the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) President, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF) Chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, under house arrest in Srinagar. The authorities deployed Indian police personnel outside the residences of Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Nayeem Ahmad Khan, asking them not to come out.

The spokesmen of DFP and JKNF told media-persons that the police did not reveal the reason for the house arrest of the two leaders. Shabbir Shah was to address a public gathering in Sopore town, the DFP spokesman added. Pertinently, the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, is under continued house detention since May 2, this year.
