Shabbir, Naqash arrested in Pampore

Srinagar, June 01, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested senior APHC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, along with other Hurriyet leaders and activists including Muhammad Yousuf Naqash in Pampore, today. The police took Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, and others into custody when they were going to Latar area of Pulwama to express solidarity with the family of a Kashmiri youth, Sajjad Ahmad Mir, who was martyred by Indian troops in Vandena area of Shopian, yesterday. They were lodged at Pampore Police Station.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has strongly denounced the arrest of party Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, and other Hurriyet leader. The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar described the action as frustration of the occupation authorities. He said that arrests and harassments could not weaken the freedom sentiment of the Kashmiri people.

The spokesman said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed to go waste and their mission would be accomplished at all costs.
