Islamabad, May 31, 2016 (PPI-OT):Senate Functional Committee on Human Rights in its meeting today was briefed about the murder of Ambreen. The meeting was held here at Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Mohsin Laghari. On the issue raised by Senator Samina Abid about the terrible murder of a girl named Ambreen in Hazara division, detailed discussion took place. DCO Hazara division while briefing the committee told that the killing of girl was done as a result of elopes of a couple identified as Syema and Mosa.

He said that it was a planned murder. The girl was kidnapped, killed and then her body was burned to give impression of an unfortunate accident. He further added that investigation in this regard has shown that there were fifteen people involved which have been arrested and judicial process has begun.

Senators Samina Abid, Farhat-Ullah-Babar and Nisar Muhammad while giving their remarks showed reservations regarding the security of the couple. DCO Hazara assured the committee that necessary security measures have been taken and two constables have been deployed to insure the security of the couple. Acting chairman of the committee appreciated the efforts of law enforcement agencies in tackling this issue.
