Karachi, September 01, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Education Department Sindh will keep an eye on the performance of the government schools run by non-governmental organizations. Action will be taken against them if complaints are received while complaints regarding early drop out of school children will also be addressed.

This he said during his surprise visit to Government Ibrahim Ali School Gizri Clifton on Thursday. While expressing his resentment over use of sub standard building materials in the construction of the school and seeing the girls students getting education sitting on the floor, the Minister Education directed to Chief Engineer Education Works to complete the ongoing work as soon as possible and furniture should be provided to the students.

The Minister Education was informed that before handing over school to NGO there were more than 2 thousands students in the school now there were only 1000 students and number of girls students was dropping fastly. Over the situation the Minister Education directed Additional Secretary to find out the cause of drop out and arrest the dropout rate at all cost.

Jam Mehtab expressed his astonishment that only six months ago the school building was renovated and now it was being renovated again. He was surprised to see that a Private School was also being run in government schools’ premises and directed the DO concerned to submit a detailed report in this regard. Meanwhile the Minister Education Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar, while taking serious notice of stagnant rain water in government school girls/boys Korangi no 3, has directed Additional Secretary Education to take action against the headmaster concerned.
