Saudi Football Federation apologizes over failure to observe silence for London attack

Jeddah, (IINA) - The Saudi Arabian Football Federation issued an apology for failing to observe a minute's silence held for the victims of this month's terror attack in London during a match in Australia on Thursday.

The apology released on Thursday comes after some of Saudi team members continued to take their positions in the formation instead of lining up as their Australian counterparts.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation expressed deeply regrets and unreservedly apologizes for any offense caused by the failure of some members to formally observe the one minute's silence in memory of the victims of the London terrorist attack.

It also added that the players did not intend any disrespect to the memories of the victims or to cause upset to their families, friends or any individual affected by the atrocity.

London terrorist act had left eight people dead, including two Australians, on June 3.
