SAARC Seminar: Delegates of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan reached

Islamabad, September 25, 2016 (PPI-OT): The Chairman NAB, Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has said that in order to strengthen cooperation and assistance amongst the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries and to join hands together in the fight against corruption, NAB first ever Seminar for creation of “SAARC Nations Anti-Corruption Forum” will start from tomorrow on September 26, 2016 at Islamabad. The delegates of India led by Shri Premanshu Biswas, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan have reached in Pakistan.

In the SAARC, SAARC countries Seminar will discuss causes of corruption in South Asia, exchange of experiences to eradicate corruption and steps taken by the SAARC countries from South Asia and efforts made to aware people about the ill effects of corruption and to provide an opportunity to all SAARC countries to work together for public awareness to fight against corruption which is one of the major hurdle in the way of progress and prosperity of the region, he added.

SAARC countries will also discuss Enforcement Strategy (Investigation) and Prosecution, International Cooperation, Assets Recovery, Technical Assistance and Information sharing in order to formulate joint strategy in consultation with all SAARC countries for creation of “SAARC Nations Anti-Corruption Forum” in order to fight corruption on the basis of best practices and lessons learnt, the Chairman NAB said.
