Rs. 110 million approved for Higher Education Commission project
Peshawar: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Khan Hoti has approved Rs. 110 million as bridge financing for HEC project of the main Khyber Medical University Peshawar for early completion of its building.
According to details, Rs. 110 million were required to complete the under-construction building for KMU. It is pertinent to mention that the work executed under the federal scheme on the university building was slowed down due to insufficient funds.
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) provided only Rs. 110 million out of allocated fund of Rs. 360 million out of which Rs. 35.371 million have so far been utilized on civil work comprising of academic block, administrative block and multipurpose hall.
The PC-I under the scheme “provision of building for Khyber Medical University Peshawar” costing Rs. 110 million was again prepared in order to utilize the provincial funds is a bridge financing for the federal project of HEC to meet the outstanding liabilities of the contractors in order to complete the academic block of KMU building by December 2011 enabling KMU to shift IBMS without further loss of time.
The Health Department in order to seek bridge financing for the HEC project of the main Khyber Medical University requested for approval of Rs. 110 million. The Chief Minister approved the proposal and issued orders accordingly.
