Rice Exporters Pakistan delegation meets Sindh Agriculture Minister

Karachi, October 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):A 5 member delegation of office bearers of Rice Exporters Pakistan (REP) called on Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Bureau of Supply and Prices Suhail Anwar Khan Siyal at his office here today. The delegation discussed a number of related issues.

Suhail Anwar Khan Siyal maintained that the Sindh Government intends to extend maximum possible benefits to farmers/ growers. He refer to his earlier meeting with the rice Growers and the millers and asked the REP to decide the existing matters open heartedly in support of the growers and farmers.

The meeting also discussed in details the various ways means to provide both benefits to the growers including facility of storage rooms, pledge facility, use of cylose ( for drying the rice). The Agriculture Minister also encouraged REP to establish Rice mills in the interior area of the province and assured them of maximum possible support and assistance in this regards.

The meeting also discussed to utilize land of katcha area in the province for yielding Rice crops. It was decided to constitute joint teams of Agriculture Department and REP to conduct visits an analyze the feasibility and viability of Rice crops in katcha areas.
