Recruitment to be made transparent through IBA/SZABIST: Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar

Karachi, October 06, 2016 (PPI-OT): Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that the vacant posts in Education Department will be filled through IBA or SZABIST or any other well reputed institution within two months in order to keep the recruiting process transparent and the objective of this recruitment is to cope with the shortage of the teachers in the schools. This he said in a call on meeting with US Counsel General Grace Shelton and political economic chief Edward B here in his office on Thursday.

Secretary Education Dr. Fazullah Phejhu, Project Director Sindh Reform Support Unit and other officers were also present on the occasion. The Minister for Education and Literacy , while appreciating the financial, logistic and technical support of American Government in Education, Health and other sectors in Sindh, expressed his hope that such support would not only continue but its magnitude would also be enhanced in future.

He told the US Counsel General that well known institutions not only help out in recruitment process but they would also keep an eye on the performance of the teachers in next five years and then on their recommendations these teachers would be regularized. He was glad to hear that meals would be provided to the students of primary classes in far flung areas to arrest the drop out of the children in initial stage because poverty was the main cause of the drop out.

The minister Jam Mehtab further informed that through Teach For Sindh Program, volunteers would be assigned to teach children in remote areas and if the bureaucracy and political leadership would work together on the same page, then the rapid progress was possible.

He added, ‘ Early Childhood Education Centres are going to be established and female teachers will be appointed there so that early drop out may be stopped ‘. US Counsel General Grace Shelton, while discussing the various ongoing programs in Sindh, assured the minister education that the American government would continue its support to Sindh government and it was desire of the people of America that the people of Pakistan and Sindh as well be well educated and financial strong.
