Recruitment process being carried out in provincial departments, including police purely on merit: Sharjeel Innam Memon

Karachi, December 03, 2014 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Innam Memon has said that recruitment process is being carried out in all provincial departments, including police purely on merit.

He said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah was personally monitoring recruitment process. “But it is a fact that except police department recruitment has not been made so far. In police only head constables have been appointed on district basis,” he clarified.

Sharjeel Memon said that MQM leader Waseem Akhtar leveled baseless allegations. Just he wanted political point scoring which has backfired. He further said that merit has not been violated during PPP tenure but it was the tenure of General Musharrraf when merit trampled not only in recruitment but promotions were also made on nepotism basis.”

Mr Sharjeel Innam Memon said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has given police free hand in recruitment, transfer/postings and full powers to maintain law and order in the province. He advised MQM friends to be realistic and appreciate the efforts of the government.
