Railways to have six working days in a week

Islamabad, July 30 2013 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has approved the summary submitted by Railways Ministry for having six working days in a week and the decision has been implemented with immediate effect.

As directed by the Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, the Ministry of Railways had sent a summary to Prime Minister in this regard which has since been approved. Accordingly the Railways Head Quarter and all Divisional Offices from now on will remain open on Saturday.

Federal Minister for Railways said that two holidays in a week were hampering the rapid resuscitation process of Railways, impeding repair of locomotives besides causing a slowdown in other routine work.

The Minister said that it was important to work six days a week to revive the confidence of the people in railways.
