Qaim Ali Shah warns Deputy Inspector General, Superintendent Police Hyderabad to curb criminal activities in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, November 23, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has warned the DIG and SSP Police Hyderabad to curb the criminal activities in Hyderabad City and Division within two weeks failing which strict action would be taken against them.

He said that he is receiving the complaints continuously from the public and media as well about increase in street crimes, robberies and kidnapping for ransom in Hyderabad since long time but no considerable action so far has been taken yet against the criminals, he added.

This he directed while holding meeting of law and order at Circuit House Hyderabad today evening which was attended by DIG Akram Broka, SSP Hyderabad Fida Hussain Matoi, Commissioner Hyderabad Jamal Mustafa Syed, DC Hyd Mohd Nawaz Sohu, PPP Leader Zahid Ali Bhurgri, Fayaz Shah, Aftab Khanzada.

He said that the deteriorated condition of law and order is giving bad name to the present Sindh Government and it would not be tolerated at any cost. He said that an annual allocation of Rs.42 billions has been made only for the Sindh Police to maintain law and order and shortly Sindh police to get more than 3000 police personnel including 600 sub inspectors along with sophisticated weapons and vehicles. Besides, the strength of Rangers can also be provided to Hyderabad Police in case it is require to maintain the law and order here in Hyderabad.

He said that we cannot allow any bureaucrat to make these sincere efforts of the government and huge budget as fruitless and put the people in trouble. He said that the government considers itself as a custodian of lives and property of the people and warned to the police officers to convert Hyderabad city into the peaceful city and division on permanent basis rather than periodical steps.

He directed the DIG Police Hyderabad and SSP Hyderabad to report him about their performance and also ask the Commissioner Hyderabad to submit his report so that the performance of police can be verified.

While expressing his dissatisfaction and displeasure over the un-cleanliness and inefficient sewerage system in Hyderabad city, the Sindh Chief Minister also warned to the Administrator HMC to make Hyderabad city neat and clean with efficient cleanliness and drainage system within two weeks or face the music.

He said that once upon a time Hyderabad had been remained a very peaceful, clean and beautiful city but due to the apathy of the bureaucracy it has been converted into the deteriorated condition.

He said that during the period of last five years of government we have spent Rs.12 billion for development of Hyderabad and Rs.47 billion on the development of Karachi city as such we desired to see the efficient and visible deliveries of these investments to the people of these cities. He directed the Administrator HMC to ensure special cleanliness drives in the city on permanent basis.

He asked the public representatives to propose such development schemes for Hyderabad so that old glories of Hyderabad could be revived. He also directed the Hyderabad police to regulate the traffic system in the city and facilitate the people accordingly.
