Punjab University wins Team Trophy in First All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest

Lahore: Punjab University students’ team has clinched team trophy in first All Pakistan Bilingual Declamation Contest organized by the Punjab Group of Colleges. PU students Syed Ghulam Mohayy-ud-Din and Tayyab Hussain of Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) won first and second positions in Urdu and English categories respectively.

PU team beat the Government College University team in the contest. Governor Punjab Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa was the chief guest on the occasion. Teams of 30 universities and colleges including FC College University, Bahauddin Zakriya University, Agriculture University Faisalabad, Peshawar Medical College and others participate in the contest. Syed Ghulam Mohayy-ud-Din was given Rs 100,000 for first while Tayyab Hussain was given Rs 75,000 for second position.

Advisor Student Affairs Iftikhar Ahmad Chaudhry and Deputy Advisor Muhammad Zubair Akram supervised the students in the contest. PU acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Khawaja Haris Rasheed has congratulated the students and Advisor and Deputy Advisor Students Affairs on this achievement, who called on him in his office here on Tuesday. Dr Haris Rasheed said it was a great achievement and a pride for the varsity. He advised the students to work more hard to earn fame for the varsity in future.
