Punjab Govt setting up a 100 MW solar power project in Layyah: Firdous

Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the Punjab government is setting up a 100 MW solar power project in Layyah.

Addressing a ceremony in Lahore today (Tuesday), she said that the project will add 200 million units of clean, green and cheap electricity into the national grid and save 13 million dollars of the nation.

Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Energy Minister Dr. Akhtar Malik said that the electricity unit cost for the project is 5.50 rupees per unit.

He said that Layyah Solar Power Project will create 50,000 job opportunities for the people of Southern Punjab.
