PTI politicizing relief package for electricity consumers in Punjab: Marriyum

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says PTI is politicizing public relief package for electricity consumers in Punjab.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday, she said funds have already been allocated for the project in this fiscal year. She said this relief package is part of the budget document.

She termed PTI’s petition in Election Commission Pakistan to stop government from electricity relief, a move against poor public.

The Minister said 8.7 million families will benefit from electricity relief package in Punjab.

Earlier, addressing another news conference in Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting said the government will steer the country out of all challenges and stabilize the economy besides providing relief to the masses.

She said the rupee will also stabilize after agreement with the International Monetary Fund. She said difficult decisions have been taken to take the country in the right direction.

She said the PTI government is responsible for current price hike, power outages and shortage of gas. She said the government is giving priority to completion of power projects of four thousand megawatts which were delayed by the previous government.

The Information Minister said the law will take its course in corruption carried out by former Prime Minister Imran Khan in his four year tenure. She said since the taxpayers’ money was plundered, the former Prime Minister will have to respond.

Marriyum Aurangzeb said Imran Khan during his tenure victimized his political opponents through fake cases and allegations but failed to furnish any evidence before the courts.
