Problems of power consumers are increasing due to overbilling: Muhammad Yameen

Karachi, October 06, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Yameen has said that problems of power consumers are increasing due to overbilling, but K-Electric still did not reform the system of meter reading, he was talking on occasion of hearing of applications against K-Electric at Deputy Commissioner Malir’s Camp Office. Muhammad Yameen said that applications against K.E. from the poor are increasing day by day, consumers aggressively complaint against K.E., but we tried to upend complaints of overbilling and others with mutual understanding by creating a pleasant environment between representatives of K.E. and consumers for providing swift justice.

Applicant comes by himself in Ombudsman Court and pursue his case by himself as well where there is no need of any lawyer but if someone is a lawyer and has a problem, he could in the Court. In this regard applicant Abdul Hameed Advocate told his problem to the Court that upended the excess bill and ordered to send bill as per meter reading. Abdul Hameed Advocate thanked the Court and went back admiring the court.

Applicant Syed Hamid Pasha told the Court that I never theft the power but K.E. handed over his hand an excessive bill, I am a poor man, how much power I used, I could pay for it, it is requested the Court to order for survey for meter checking so that facts could be find, upon which the Court rejected the allegations of power theft and ordered to make survey and upended the excess billing.

Applicant Shabbir Ahmed told the Court that I pay the bill regularly in spite of this I am sent excessive bill, Court ordered to change the meter on K.E. expenses so that allegation of power theft could be removed. Applicant Ghulam Murtaza told the Court he is whirling around K.E. officer for three months but nobody is ready to hear his complaint, therefore he requested to the Court do justice with him, Advisor to Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Yameen discussed his case with the representative of K.E. and upended the excess amount of the bill.

Applicant Muhammad Hameed told the Court that no one comes for meter reading while bills are continuously sent on approximation, the Court issued the judgment to stop sending the bills on approximation and send the bills against after meter reading. Applicant Abdul Ameen told the Court That K.E. sent him a bill of Rs. 57,664 of power-theft which is exploitation with him, I did not thieve the power, upon which the Court not only upended the overbilling but also ordered to pay the remaining bill in 18 instalments.
