Privatisation Minister inaugurates Electric Supply Projects in NA-80, Faisalabad-VI


Faisalabad: The Federal Minister of State for Privatisation Rana Asif Tauseef inaugurated two electric supply projects in NA-80, Faisalabad-VI at Chak No. 79 G.B and Chak No. 80 G.B here today.

Around Rs 2 million have been spent for both the projects, which will benefit about 200 families, worship places, shrines and business places in the area.

Addressing on this occasion Rana Asif Tauseef Minister for Privatisation said that the project pertaining to the uplift and development of rural and remote areas was in accordance with PML-Q manifesto and other coalition partners. We have joined the government not only in the larger interest of political harmony but also to serve the people, he said.

The Minister said that a number of development projects worth millions of rupees were under process and would be executed soon. The matter regarding shortage of electric and gas supply to Faisalabad has been discussed with the concerned authorities and efforts were being made to bring the supply of both the utilities to normal for smooth economic activity, he added.

Elucidating the efforts for improvement in the power sector, the Privatisation Minister said that through a competitive, open and transparent process, the power generation (GENCO) and power supply (DISCO) units were being offered to the private sector through public private partnership mode to increase the power generation and to improve the power supply system to overcome the ongoing power crisis.
