Prime Minister Gilani urges Ulema to play their role in Promoting Interfaith Harmony

Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the Ulema should play their role in promoting interfaith harmony in the society and building bridges between various sects and religions. He asked them to educate the people about the religious matters.

The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Qari Muhammad Hanif Jallandhari, member Islamic Ideology Council, who called on him at Prime Minister’s House this evening.

The Prime Minister said that Islamic ideology Council is a constitutional body and helps the Government in formulating policies in line with the teachings of Islam. He added, that he will hold a meeting with the members and chairman of Islamic Ideology Council and will propose to present their proposals in the parliament.

Qari Hanif Jallandhari apprised the Prime Minister about the problems faced by religious seminaries .He also discussed with him the educational system of the Madaris and the efforts of the Islamic Ideology Council to promote Inter faith harmony among various sects and religions.
