Prime Minister for giving control of Peshawar Electric Supply Company to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government

Islamabad, December 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, on the request of Ministry of Water and Power has authorized, in principle, to write to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government to formally take control of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO).

A letter in this respect, addressed to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would be sent very soon. This letter is being sent in line with the 18th Constitutional Amendment, which allows provinces to administer Distribution and Recovery of electricity.
