Prime Minister departs for Ankara

Islamabad, April 03, 2015 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif leaves for one-day official visit to Ankara, Turkey, during which he would meet Turkish Prime Minister, Mr. Ahmet Davutoglu and President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Main purpose of his visit is to consult brotherly Islamic country on the current crisis in the Middle East.

In his pre-departure statement the Prime Minister said Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of the crisis and wishes to promote unity among the Muslim Ummah. He expressed the hope that his sincere efforts may result in promoting harmony and stability in the Middle East.

The Prime Minister regarded bilateral relations between Pakistan and Turkey as unparalleled in terms of mutual trust, understanding and close cooperation. Advisor to PM, Mr. Sartaj Aziz; SAPM, Mr. Tariq Fatemi and Secretary Foreign Affairs are accompanying the PM.
