Pollen observed in Islamabad/Rawalpindi

Islamabad, February 24, 2023 (PPI-OT):Due to increasing temperature, the Pollen concentration has started to increase rapidly in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. Met Office (M.O) predicts that pollen will further increase in coming days. On the basis of prevailing temperature conditions, an early onset of pollen season is expected this year.

The Pollen is likely to attain peak during second decade of March 2023 in Islamabad/Rawalpindi. People suffering from pollen allergy are advised to take the precautionary measures, accordingly.

The most abundant pollen types in Islamabad are from 08 plant species (i. e. Paper Mulberry, Acacia, Eucalyptus, Pines, Grasses, Cannabis, Dandelion and Alternaria). Out of all these plants Paper Mulberry shares about 97% of the total pollen and its concentration touches the extreme limits of around 45,000 per cubic meter of air at the peak of the blossom season.
