Police officer stoned to death by two Hindu men in Kathua

Jammu, October 16, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a special police officer (SPO) was stoned to death by two Hindu men in a remote village of Kathua district in Jammu region, police said.

Hemant Kumar was deployed at Phinter Chowk last night where he had an altercation with the accused who attacked him with stones, a police officer said. He said that Kumar was left in a pool of blood and when he was shifted to a local hospital doctors declared him brought dead.

“Two youths over some old rivalry reached the Phinter Chowk and over powered the SPO. Later, one of them attacked him with stones and other blunt objects available there till he died,” police said.

The accused had been identified as Naresh Bhadwal and Manveer Lalotra.He said that a case of murder had been registered and one of the accused has been arrested.
