People welcome Radio Pakistan’s initiative of reviving live cricket commentary

People from all across the country have enthusiastically welcomed Radio Pakistan’s initiative of reviving live commentary on cricket matches after thirteen years.

They expressed these remarks while listening to the live Radio Pakistan’s commentary on the final match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup through loudspeakers in different cities of the country on Sunday.

Several Radio Pakistan stations had made arrangements to broadcast the commentary on the final match through audio power amplifiers in their localities. These PBC stations include Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Kohat, Bahwalpur, Sargodha, Multan, Mianwali, D.I.Khan, Hyderabad, Larkana, Loralai, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur and Gilgit.

While hearing the traditional sound of Radio Pakistan cricket commentary, people thronged to the venues and expressed their happiness over revival of their favourite sports feature of the national broadcaster.

In their remarks, they said the Radio Urdu commentary has a romance for them and they love to listen to it.

The citizens were of the view that in today’s busy life, it is very difficult to spare time to glue to television screens for the whole match; therefore, radio commentary is a needed activity on part of the national broadcaster today. They urged the government and the Radio Pakistan management to continue this activity during all cricket matches.

Earlier during the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, Radio Pakistan resumed airing live ball to ball commentary on medium wave channels.
