Peer Saifullah shifted to hospital on deterioration of health

Srinagar, October 16, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) leader Peer Saifullah has been shifted to Soura Instituted of Medical Sciences (IMS) after his health deteriorated in custody. In a media interview his family said that he was lodged in Humhama police station for several weeks.

“He was first denied the medical treatment. He is suffering from a tumour. It was only after his health deteriorated that he was shifted to district Hospital Budgam,” said family members. They added that thereafter, he was referred to SKIMS, where he is presently undergoing treatment. They expressed concern over the health condition of Saifullah. Meanwhile, the resistance leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Ayaz Akbar, Meraj-ud-din Kalwal, Imtiyaz Haider, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Showkat Bakhshi, Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Muhammad Rafiq Ganie continue to languish in different jails from past several weeks.

However, authorities have slapped draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) on several resistance leaders and activists and shifted them to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
