Jammu, The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), led by Mehbooba Mufti, staged a protest in Jammu today, decrying what they claim is the failure of the administration installed by New Delhi in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to safeguard the lives of its residents.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the demonstration involved senior PDP figures and dozens of party workers who marched from the PDP office in Gandhi Nagar to near the Jammu airport road, where they conducted a brief sit-in before returning. The protest featured party leaders such as Satpal Charak, Rajinder Manhas, and others, voicing strong criticisms of the current security and administrative measures in the region.
The protesters highlighted recent violent incidents in Hiranagar, Reasi, and Doda as evidence of the administration’s failure to maintain peace and security, accusing it of prioritizing commercial interests over public safety. The PDP’s demonstration reflects growing discontent with the authorities’ response to the security situation, amid calls for more effective governance.
