Pakistan Stock Exchange: Six-Month Market Performance Overview

Karachi, The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSE) disclosed its main board data for the last six months, showing fluctuations in market capitalization and trading volumes amid varying index performances. The detailed monthly breakdown provides insights into the financial movements from October to March.

In October, the listed capital was reported at approximately 1,653,218 million Rs, with a market capitalization of about 7,551,773 million Rs. Trading activities involved 8.4 million ready shares and 2.5 million future contracts, with the KSE 100 Index and the KSE All Share Index closing at 51,920.27 and 34,558.22 respectively.

November saw an increase in both market capitalization and trading volumes; the market cap rose to roughly 8,729,523 million Rs and the total turnover of shares surged to 14.1 million ready and 3.7 million futures. The indices also increased to 60,531.27 for KSE 100 and 40,324.28 for KSE All Share.

December continued this upward trend with market capitalization reaching approximately 9,062,903 million Rs. Share turnover further escalated to 21.2 million ready and 5.3 million future contracts. Index readings showed the KSE 100 at 62,451.04 and the KSE All Share at 41,916.27.

January's data indicated a slight change with market capitalization relatively stable at about 9,073,760 million Rs and a decrease in share turnover to 11.7 million ready and 4.2 million futures. The indices slightly dropped to 61,979.18 for KSE 100 and 41,892.68 for KSE All Share.

February's figures revealed an increase in market capitalization to approximately 9,225,160 million Rs, though share turnover decreased to 7.2 million ready and 2.9 million futures. The KSE 100 Index rose to 64,578.52, and the KSE All Share Index increased to 42,840.89.

March marked the end of the six-month period with a continued rise in market capitalization to about 9,447,694 million Rs and a steady trade volume of 7.7 million ready and 3.1 million futures. The indices reported were 67,005.11 for KSE 100 and 44,562.88 for KSE All Share, indicating a strong close to the fiscal quarter.
