Pakistan Muslim League (Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Federal Ministers call on Prime Minister Gilani


Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the consensus and reconciliation based governance being pursued by the present government greatly leading towards development and progress of Pakistan. He added that the consensus and reconciliation was envisioned by Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed as the future course of politics in Pakistan.

The Prime Minister was talking to PML (Q) President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and the Federal Ministers who called on him before the Special Cabinet meeting here this morning at Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The Prime Minister said that although Pakistan People’s Party has gained clear majority in the recent AJ and K elections still they would adhere to the policy of reconciliation and take all democratic forces on national issues. He said that all the political forces in AJ and K would be consulted in this regard to provide maximum relief to the people.

With regard to the third and final phase of the devolution process, the Prime Minister lauded the role of the Implementation Commission and especially Mian Raza Rabbani for his commitment and resolute endeavour beyond party affiliations.

Talking about various development activities being undertaken by the Federal Government, the Prime Minister said these would be completed for the overall welfare and wellbeing of the people of the country. He added that minorities would not be ignored and a consensus based solution would be worked out for resolution of their issues.

The Federal Ministers included Minister for Environment, Ms. Samina Khalid Ghurki, Minister for Health Mr. Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Minister of State for Health Sardar Shah Jehan Yousuf and Minister of State for Interfaith Harmony and Minorities Affairs Mr. Akram Masih Gill.
