Pakistan ‘intrudes’ Kashmir with Anar Kali, Gagrah Choli, Kurta

Srinagar, July 24 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Pakistani wear is turning out to be the premium choice for the youngsters as well as ladies of the Valley as everyone is embracing the across border style with much enthusiasm, reported a Srinagar-based daily.

“The ladies here want to try something new as they are bored wearing same old collection,” Manager at Chabbra 555, Abdul Hameed said. With a variety in preferences and choices for the customers, the collection ranges from Lehenga, Anarkali, Party and casual wear, Banaras, Cotton collection, Kurta, Gagrah Choli and many more.

“The collection of Pakistan made Gagrah Choli, Kurta, Anar Kali are most sought-after dresses among women. The dresses are now turning into a style statement,” Hameed said. The price range for Pakistani wear starts from Rs 2000.

The bridal collection ranges from Rs 8,000 to Rs 35,000. Suits range from Rs 600 to Rs 5000. Pakistani dress culture was started last year, when various showrooms and boutiques in the valley put up for Pakistani designer ware on sale. The outlets witnessed a huge demand from public.

Nowadays, girls wear Pakistani wear on certain occasions. “I would love to wear my Pakistani designer dress on my cousin’s marriage which is scheduled after Eid. I am very excited and looking forward to it,” a student, Bushra Riyaz, said.

“Pakistani material is a craze among Kashmiri women nowadays. It has a unique appeal of its own and thus is successful in attracting a huge number of audiences,” Butterfly Boutique, owner, Sanober Tak, said. Pakistani apparels have a tremendous potential to attract buyers all over Kashmir as our sales are showing an upward graph, Abdul Hameed, said.
