Pakistan Day Celebrated In Denmark

Copenhagen, March 23, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan day was observed with great zeal and enthusiasm in Denmark today. The main event of the celebrations was the flag hoisting ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Copenhagen. The ceremony was attended by a very large number of members of the Pakistani community representing various walks of life. This included professionals, academicians, mediamen, politicians, poets and students. Mr. Nadeem Farooq, Member of the Danish Folketing (Parliament) also attended the ceremony.

The flag hoisting was performed by Ambassador Masroor A. Junejo with the accompaniment of the national anthem. Students of the Jinnah International School rendered Milli songs. Noted Urdu poet Mr. Iqbal Akhtar presented his poem relating to the occasion. Ambassador Junejo in his remarks paid rich tributes to the forefathers of Pakistan and briefed the community regarding steps that the government was taking to address the challenges being faced by the country. He also informed them of the measures taken by the Embassy to solve their problems.

The ceremony ended with distribution of certificates to the children of Jinnah International School who had participated in the event and prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
